Processing applications and coordinating volunteers costs time and money for agencies and organizations.
Please do not apply to volunteer if:
You cannot commit to taking at least three (3) activities a month into a facility
You aren't sure if you can keep or cover the commitments you make
An unreliable volunteer can be worse than no volunteer at all.
If you are eligible, fill out the form(s) completely and email all required documents to applications@denvercorrections.org
Incomplete forms are the number one reason for delays and volunteer denials!
When people fail to fill out forms completely, or don't follow instructions, it can waste time and create unnecessary delays.
Please fill in all required fields and check the pre-submission checklist before submitting.
Don't forget to put your signature in the yellow box (DSD)
Don't forget to submit a copy of the front and back of your driver's license (DSD)
If you have no previous addresses, write "N/A" in the field.
Tip: To easily fill out these forms on your computer, right click -> download them and open them in your browser. The fields are fillable in most browsers and Adobe Acrobat.
When finished, click "Save As" or print them to a PDF file to save your changes.
Fill in your name and test this method first if you're unsure, before filling the whole form!
Be sure to attach a copy of the front and back of your driver's license.
Be sure all fields are complete! CDOC will simply reject incomplete forms, sometimes without notification.
Are all mandatory fields completed?
One volunteer wrote "N/A" in the "Email" field. This information was definitely not "Not Applicable!"
Does the form state that it requires any additional documents?
The DSD application clearly states that you must attach a copy of the front and back of your driver's license!
Did you sign all of the signature boxes?
There is a large, yellow box with a required signature on the DSD application that many people miss, which will cause an application to be rejected.
The DSD volunteer handbook doesn't look like a form, but all volunteers must sign and submit the last page before they attend training.
After you've filled out your form and double-checked it, email it to to applications@denvercorrections.org
